Welcome to the Veritas Art Project
To celebrate the 40th Anniversary of Veritas House, we’re launching an Art Project, commissioning young artists to show their talents and produce artworks in the medium of their choice.
Art helps to tell our stories. Like language, visual art is a medium to express ideas and share information, to communicate thoughts and feelings that may not be able to be expressed any other way.
Veritas House started 40 years ago as a youth refuge for young people in Central Western NSW who were experiencing homelessness. Today it has grown to become one of the largest providers of foster care, youth homelessness and family support services in the region, assisting more than 800 children and young people each year.
To celebrate the 40th Anniversary of Veritas House, we’re launching an Art Project as part of Youth Week, commissioning young local artists to show their talents and produce artworks in the medium of their choice.
The project is designed to nurture young artistic talent by supporting connections between young artists with established local artists. By funding the purchase of art materials, it also aims to be an inclusive project that reflects the values of Veritas House, ensuring that money or background doesn’t prevent young people from pursuing their artistic potential.
This project is a celebration of the talents of young people in the communities in which Veritas operates and we believe is an appropriate way to mark this significant milestone in the history of Veritas House.
